It seems as though Broadway’s “no phone” policy didn’t work as well as they had hoped. As it has been reported, Jesse Williams—best known for his role in Grey’s Anatomy—is currently starring in the Broadway Take Me Out.
His performance got him nominated for a Tony Award for best performance by a featured actor in a play. And while his performance is award-worthy, right now, everyone is talking about one particular scene.
Broadway Star Jesse Williams Responds After Audience Member Secretly Took a Photo of His Naked Body
During his performance of Take Me Out, Williams’ character gets completely nude. And during one of the shows, an audience member ignored the “no phone” policy to snap a photo of the nude scene.
According to CNN, Second Stage’s Hayes Theater required audience members to put their phones in a locked pouch before the show “out of respect and support for our actors and in order to create a phone-free space.” It’s unclear how the audience member got around the requirement.
Now, the images are going viral on Twitter. While we will give you the option of going to Twitter to search for the images, if that’s what you choose to do, Jesse Williams is now responding to the images that are making their rounds on the internet.
“It’s a body, once you see it, you realize it’s whatever, it’s a boy!” Williams said on the Watch What Happens Live After Show. “I just have to make it not that big of a deal.”
But while Williams is doing his best to make sure this leak is not a big deal, he admits when he first took the role, the nude scene did terrify him. However, he got over the magnitude of it, eventually.
“Then I noted that that was what I asked God for. I asked to be terrified,” Jesse Williams told the publication. “I asked to do something that was scary and challenging and made me earn it and made me feel alive and not comfortable.”

The play depicts a gay baseball player, played by Williams, who comes out during the height of his career and the problems that occur. Williams isn’t the only actor to get nude during the play. It’s unclear if this is the first time the “no phone” policy was breached and if the Theater will try to do anything about it.
