Jessa Duggar is giving the world the answers they are looking for after it was reported that her older sister Jana Duggar was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Jana was charged on September 9 and released on $430 bail.
The news of Jana’s legal woes were made public just one day after her older brother Josh Duggar was found guilty of downloading and possessing child pornography. And as Jessa is revealing in her most recent statement, it is because of Josh’s trial that Jana is catching so much heat for what she described as an innocent mistake.
Jessa Duggar Releases Statement Defending Sister Jana Duggar After She Was Charged With Endangering the Welfare of a Child
Just like Amy King, Jessa is sticking up for her sister and letting the world in on what is really going on. “Getting messages about headlines about Jana,” Jessa began her statement.
“Bottom line—it was an innocent mistake. She was babysitting and one of the kids slipped out the door unnoticed, but it ended safely. Could’ve happened to anyone,” Jessa continued. “The media is sensationalizing this because of other current family circumstances and it makes me so mad.”
Jessa was then very direct in addressing Jana’s character, saying “she’s without question one of the most amazing women I know and I’d trust her with my kids any day of the week. Do me a favor—give the girl a break, and all you perfect humans go back to living your lives.”

Amy King’s statement was very similar to Jessa’s. As King revealed, “I will call out what is right and I will call out what is wrong. This couldn’t have been intentional.”
“Thank God the child was ok and found! I bet you were exhausted, stressed, and just emotionally worn out. Watching multiple kids is hard! Because there [are] so many of them and you only have two eyes!! It’s a very sad situation going on and my heart goes out to Jana Duggar. Love you.”
If the 31-year-old is found guilty of the “class A or B misdemeanor,” Jana could also be looking at jail time and fines. However, it sounds like that is unlikely. Jana will learn her fate in court on January 10.
