Jenelle Evans and David Eason have had a tumultuous summer, to put it mildly. The troubled former Teen Mom 2 couple temporarily lost custody of their children earlier this year, after an incident in which Eason allegedly shot and killed the family dog. After months of drama inside and outside of the courtroom, Evans and Eason regained custody of those children, but now the trouble is starting again.
Evans and Eason recently lost custody of Eason’s 5-year-old son, Kaden. Kaden’s mother, Olivia Leedham, won sole legal and physical custody in a North Carolina court on June 29, 2019, Radar Online exclusively reports.

Olivia was first awarded sole custody of Kaden in 2014. Eason was initially denied any contact with the child, but over the years, the custody agreement evolved and he regained limited visitation rights.
Court papers from the original custody battle in 2014 include the following disturbing information: “The Defendant has committed acts of domestic violence on the Plaintiff during the course of the relationship and that he had endangered the life of the child by pushing Plaintiff when she was eight months pregnant and by leaving her in the middle of the road at night when she was seven months pregnant.”
Beginning in 2017, Eason was allowed contact with his son on an incremental basis. But things took a turn again in 2018 when Kaden allegedly “began displaying a series of alarming behaviors related to visitation with the Defendant, notably, that he would cry uncontrollably, that he would beg not to visit Defendant, and that he was evasive about why he did not want to visit Defendant at Defendant’s residence.”
In November of 2018, the court suspended Eason’s visitation rights. Radar Online notes this is the last time Jenelle posted a photo of Kaden to her Instagram page.
The court documents from that time cite a call Jenelle made to 911, in which she claims Eason assaulted her while four children — one of whom was Kaden, according to Leedham — slept nearby in the house.
Though things have obviously not been good between Evans, Eason, and Leedham for a long time, things started getting even worse recently after Leedham launched a GoFundMe campaign earlier this month to raise money for her legal bills. According to the court, the case is to be reviewed after 8 months, which explains why Leedham needs money for legal fees even though she already has custody.
“So for the past 5 years,” her GoFundMe page says, “I have been in a custody battle to protect my child from harms way. We have come a long way and have spent nearly $50,000 on attorney fees to keep the case going. My family and I are struggling to pay anymore.”
Leedham also outlines some of the accusations that have been brought against Eason in recent months: “Domestic violence including 911 calls, animal cruelty in which case a dog was beaten and shot, and much more has all been mentioned to of happened at the Eason home.”
This did not sit well with Evans and Eason who, true to form, launched their own GoFundMe page in retaliation, although not before Evans took to Facebook to call Leedham an “alcoholic, cheater, drug addict, scam artist and spouse abuser.”
On her and Eason’s GoFundMe page, Evans writes: “My son Kaden has been in/out of my life since the day he was born, never my fault. My ex is holding me back from seeing my son under every and any circumstance for no legit reason. I pay my child support which is an insane amount and very unfair. I recently started my local business and my ex has made up so many rumors that now it’s hard for myself to make any money or even have a job. I paid so much in attorney fees already for everything my ex has put me through.”
Leedham’s GoFundMe campaign has already raised $5,720 of its $5,200 goal. The news isn’t so good for Evans and Eason, whose GoFundMe campaign only raised $125 before ending.
