Former Teem Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans and her husband David Eason may no longer be apart of the show that gave her a name, but that doesn’t mean people still aren’t curious about what’s going on in their life.
Most recently, Evans took to Instagram to tell her followers that she and her husband have decided to split. E! News reports that the mom-of-three (she shares one child with Eason) has filed for divorce.

She wrote:
“I’ve mostly kept off social media these past few days because I’ve been focused on making some big life decisions. I’ve lived my life on camera since I was 17 years old. And a lot of it hasn’t been pretty. But its been my life. Like anyone else I want what’s best for my kids and I want to be happy. With time away from Teen Mom I’ve started to look at my life differently and I know I need to make changes. I’m starting that now.”
Evans then continued saying one of those changes was moving herself and her kids away from Eason.
“The kids and I have moved away from David. Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know what is best for me, and for my kids. Today I’ve filed papers to start that process. I appreciate the support from everybody who has asked me how I am. Me and the kids are doing great. We need some time to be together. But you’ll hear from us again soon.”
The decision to end their marriages comes a year after Evans accused Eason of assaulting her on a 911 call. And several months after Evans told the public that she was considering leaving her husband of two years after he made headlines for allegedly killing her beloved French Bulldog, Nugget. In May, Eason claimed that he took matters into his own hands after Nugget reportedly bit their 2-year-old daughter Ensley.
However, at the time, the couple decided to enter into therapy to work through marital issues.
The scandal caused MTV to cut all ties with Evans after already cutting ties with Eason last year for the alleged homophobic comments he made. Evans also temporarily lost custody of her children as a result of their actions following Nugget’s reported death.
Eason and Evans’ daughter, Ensley, stayed with Evans’ mom, Barbara, who also has custody of Evans’ oldest son, 10-year-old Jace. The father of her middle child, 5-year-old Kaiser, took him in full-time. Eason also lost custody of his oldest daughter from a previous relationship. Evans’ custody has since been reinstated.
In fact, before announcing her impending divorce, Evans shared photos of their four children all together at what appeared to be a monster truck rally. Eason was not in the pictures.
The last time Evans posted a picture with her husband was on October 8. They had taken a family hike with their four children. She wrote the hike was “totally worth it.”
Barbara confirmed her daughter’s divorce, telling E! News that “it’s true. It’s all new.” Now, some of Evans’ former co-stars are speaking out on the news.
Both Briana DeJesus and Kailyn Lowry say they are proud of Jenelle for leaving Eason, with Lowry adding that she “wishes her the best.” DeJesus also thinks MTV will ask Jenelle to be a part of the show again now that Easton is out of the picture.
However, it’s currently unclear if going back on the show is even something Evans would want to do as she’s trying to do better for herself and her children.
