Country music star Jelly Roll is attacking his weight loss journey in a way that he has never done before.
That’s what the 39-year-old singer said on Oct. 21 in his latest weight loss update on Instagram, just as he hit the halfway point of his Beautifully Broken tour.
“That’s why next year when y’all see me, you won’t recognize me,” he says at the beginning of the video. “I’m going to get under a pile of weights in a way that I never have.”

According to his trainer, Ian Larios, the “Save Me” singer has made a remarkable amount of progress thus far and has already lost 100 pounds thanks to some lifestyle changes.
Since kicking off his tour on August 27, Jelly Roll has stayed active by walking around arenas prior to performing in them, playing basketball, and boxing.
“Jelly’s been crushing it,” Larios said in the video before detailing some of his favorite pre-show snacks and post-show meals.
Before the show, Larios prepared one of Jelly Roll’s favorite pre-show snacks: a bowl of banana slices drizzled with mānuka honey, Stevia, and sweet and dark chocolate shavings.
After the show, he likes to go with a high-protein meal. In the video, Larios prepared his healthy spin on Nashville hot chicken, in which he removes the “oil and the batter” from the recipe.
“It tricks your brain into thinking that this is, like, that nice greasy Nashville deep-fried hot chicken,” Larios explained. “He’s going to feel like he’s eating at home.”
Jelly Roll is continuing what he started years ago
This isn’t Jelly Roll’s first positive experience with weight loss.
In a 2018 Instagram post, he revealed that he once maxed out a human scale during a 2015 doctor’s visit.
The scale only went up to 500 pounds, so he was told to go to a “meat processor or truck stop” to determine his actual weight. He called it “one of the most embarrassing days” of his life.
That experience led him on a weight loss journey that saw him lose 200 pounds.
And he was back at it again earlier this year when he revealed that he lost between roughly 70 pounds while training for a 5K, which he completed in May.
Prior to the race, he told PEOPLE that he was doing “two to three miles a day, four to six days a week,” while also doing “20 to 30 minutes in the sauna” and “six minutes in a cold plunge every day.”
“If I feel this good down this weight, man, I can only imagine what I’m going to feel like by the time I go on tour,” he said in April.
