Meet Jasper, the Horrifyingly Cute, Eyeless, Hairless Cat

Well, friends, we found a thing on the internet we think you need to see. There is an eyeless, hairless cat named Jasper. The sphynx looks like a cross between a bat and a gargoyle. We’re slightly terrified and slightly obsessed with this lovable beast who is nicknamed, “Jazzy.”

Buzzfeed staff writer, Syd Robinson alerted us to Jasper’s existence and interviewed this bald cat’s owner to get the full story. Hang on to your eyeballs! We’re going to show you a cat unlike any you’ve probably ever seen and then, share the details of how he came to lose his peepers.

Meet Jasper, the hairless cat with no eyes.

Jasper was born with two eyes, but sadly, because of corneal ulcers, he eventually had to have each removed. His first eye was taken in 2013, and the other one five years later.

Luckily, he is no longer in pain, Buzzfeed reports. But, the silver lining is, that people really have a soft spot for this little guy and he’s amassed a loyal following on Instagram with over 65,000 followers. People find Jasper and his story to be very inspiring. Although this cat can’t see it, he’s doing some good.

This cat looks adorable in clothes, in part, because he also looks like an old man.

Jasper has good days when he wears his favorite outfits and snuggles with his owner, Kelli. It’s the perfect photo opportunity really.

Look at that happy boy!

Other days, not so much. He can get a little testy and look like an actual monster. But, his fans love him anyway, even when he’s being a little beast.

“I get art of him all the time, and at least five people have gotten him tattooed on them, and that’s not including me!” Kelli told BuzzFeed. “It’s wild, but so, so appreciated!”

In addition to managing Jasper’s Instagram and Facebook accounts, Kelli has started posting videos of him on TikTok, where people can get to know the little bald and blind cutie.

In his introduction video on the platform, Kelli lovingly pets her baby and his eye sockets.

Check out these socket caresses.

He’s had so many tests over the years, I can assure you he is a very healthy cat with some bad luck. ##catsoftiktok ##jazzypurrs ##sphynx ##pets ##fyp

Kelli told the outlet that she hopes the social media accounts help raise awareness about the needs of special cats. She wants people to know that they’re deserving of love and return it in kind.

They might look different, but they’re still wonderful cats, after all.

“A blind cat can still live a very fulfilling, happy life,” the cat owner explained. “If you’re thinking of adopting a pet, maybe take a look at the less loved: the elderly, the disabled. They may just be the best companion you’ll ever have.”

“He’s a very happy kitty, who is otherwise extremely healthy,” Kelli shared on Instagram. “He’s 12 years old, but the vet says there’s no reason to think he won’t live another 10 years.”
