Jason Momoa doesn’t just play a superhero on screen. The Aquaman star was a real-life superhero when he surprised fan Danny Sheehan, who is battling cancer, with a FaceTime call.
Momoa shared the touching surprise on his Instagram, posting clips of his chat with seven-year-old Sheehan who is battling Pineoblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer and Leptomeningeal disease, cancer in the cerebral spinal fluid, according to WBZ-TV.

Sheehan had opened an Aquaman toy after a family photoshoot and exclaimed very excitedly, “Oh My God! My favorite one! I LOVE AQUAMAN!” The sweet moment reached Momao who responded with a very special – and surprise – call to the young boy.
“Hi Aquaman,” Danny exclaimed when he answered the phone. “I’m so excited.”
“You are so beautiful. You’re excited? I’m excited,’ Momao responded.
“I have been hearing about you all over, from all of my friends,” the star continued. “And I wanted to call you and say hi and see how you’re doing.”
At the end of the call, Momoa invited Danny to the set of Aquaman 2 which is filming in London next year and told the young boy he would give him one of his tridents.
“It’s just been an unbelievable blue, and it’s been magical,” Danny’s mom Natalie Sheehan said of the experience.
Momoa shared a video of the call on Instagram, saying, “I just wanted to say thank you to the community, friends and family on Instagram for reaching out and showing me this beautiful boy Danny who going through chemo and has cancer. I saw this video online that made me want to get in touch and FaceTime him and spend some time talking to him.”
“Gratitude. Awe. Disbelief. Amazement. Shock. Holy Cow-ness! And back to unbelievable gratitude,” about the chat with Momoa. “Thank you to [Jason Momoa] for your beyond kind heart.”
They added, “Thank you for making this call and for making Danny the happiest little boy ever – he can’t wait to ride dolphins with #AQUAMAN!!”
At the time of his diagnosis, the family launched a GoFundMe page, which has since raised more than $120,000.
