“19 Kids and Counting” star Jason Duggar and his now wife Maddie Grace tied the knot on Oct. 3, but their wedding was a little different than what the Duggar family is used to.
That’s because, for the first time in family history, Duggar and Grace had a dance floor at their wedding.
The shocking detail was revealed by Jeremy Vuolo and his wife, Jinger Duggar Vuolo, during an Oct. 23 episode of their “The Jinger and Jeremy” podcast.

“Some stuff happened at this wedding that’s never happened at a Duggar wedding before,” Jeremy Vuolo said.
The couple went on to explain why the family has avoided dance floors at weddings before, and it’s a reason many people can relate to.
“No one knows how to dance,” Jinger Vuolo said. While some of her siblings have received dance lessons in the past, she admits that it’s “not part of the culture at all” and described it as an “interesting” experience.
But while the Duggars used the dance floor sparingly, there were a few iconic songs that received special treatment.
“There were some times when the DJ would turn on a song and [the dance floor] would be full ‘cause it was, like, the ‘Cha Cha Slide,’” Jinger Vuolo explained.
“All these people would get out there and do it, and then he’d turn on the next song and there would be no one out there,” she continued.
They also danced to the “YMCA” and a few other songs that had instructions, but that was about it.
Jeremy had a funny interaction with the wedding DJ
At one point during the wedding, Jeremy Vuolo noticed a “confused” look on the DJ’s face when he would play a hit song and no one would jump up to dance.
Even Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” didn’t get a reaction from the family.
Jeremy Vuolo felt so bad for the DJ that he walked up and explained why the dance floor was so empty.
“Bro, do you have any idea what you gotta do at this wedding?” he asked the DJ. “And he was like, ‘No, but it’s wild.’ And I just said, ‘Dude, you just need to know, they don’t dance.’”
When he mentioned that this was the first dance floor at a Duggar wedding, the DJ had “no idea.”
“This poor DJ had to be so confused as to what was happening,” he said. “Beautiful first dance and then daddy-daughter dance and then they open the dance floor and he was playing hits.”
The couple later revealed that, while Duggar and Grace were the first to open a dance floor to guests, they weren’t the first Duggar couple to dance at a wedding.
That honor goes to Jana Duggar and Stephen Wissman, who shared the very first first dance in Duggar family history.
The Duggar family dance floor was still a success
According to Jeremy Vuolo, the dance floor was a “ton of fun,” but it made him realize something.
“Jinger, as many weddings as we go to, we gotta take some dance lessons,” he said to his wife of seven years.
The Vuolos got married in November 2016. She was the fourth Duggar sibling to get married. Since then, nine other siblings have tied the knot.
