Jamie Foxx is responding to the lawsuit that was levied against him. In a statement issued by a spokesperson for the singer and actor, Foxx denies the accusations against him.
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Foxx has been accused by an unnamed woman, who claims Foxx sexually assaulted her in August 2015 while at Catch NYC & Roof.
Now, Foxx has said the interaction has never happened. “The alleged incident never happened. In 2020, this individual filed a nearly identical lawsuit in Brooklyn. That case was dismissed shortly thereafter. The claims are no more viable today than they were then,” the statement obtained by TMZ read.
The lawsuit claims that the woman visited the establishment on the same night as Foxx, who she spotted sitting only a table away. The woman in the lawsuit went on to claim that she approached Foxx around 1 a.m. to ask him if he would take a photo with her.
“Sure, baby, anything for you,” she claims Foxx responded, before allegedly adding, “Wow, you have that supermodel body. […] You smell so good” and telling her she looked like Gabrielle Union.
It was after this alleged encounter that the woman claims Foxx took her to the back of the rooftop where she claims he placed his hands on her hips before moving them up under her shirt and began caressing her breasts. She alleges that she attempted to pull away while noticing a security guard and others around them witnessing what was happening.
The lawsuit continues that after the witnesses chose to turn away, Foxx allegedly put his hands in her pants before sexually assaulting. It was only when her friends appeared that Foxx reportedly pulled away.
The woman said she required medical attention after the encounter and underwent medical treatment.
The woman is now asking Foxx, Catch, and its employees for compensatory and punitive damages. Foxx has not yet responded to the lawsuit or the allegations.
