Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk Just Premiered Its Newest Season and They Addressed The Slap Right Off the Bat

It’s no secret that episodes of Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook Watch show Red Table Talk is filmed in advance. And while the newest season of the show premiered on April 20, the conversation on everyone’s minds is how is the Smith family really dealing with The Slap.

While Will Smith has since publicly apologized and resigned as a voting member of The Academy and The Academy has decided to punish Smith by banning him from the Oscars for the next 10 years, the family as a whole has yet to address the situation.

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Will slapped comedian Chris Rock in the face live on the Oscar stage after Rock made a G.I. Jane joke toward Jada. Jada, for the last several months, has been rocking a shaved head due to her battle with alopecia.

It has been a question if Will, Jada, and their daughter Willow would talk about The Slap on Red Table Talk. And the answer is, seemingly, yes.

“Considering all that has happened in the last few weeks, the Smith family has been focusing on deep healing,” the message read as the episode began. “Some of the discoveries around our healing will be shared at the table when the time calls.”

“Until then, the table will continue offering itself to powerful, inspiring, and healing testimonies like that of our incredible impressive first guest,” the message continued, referring to singer and activist Janelle Monae. “Thanks for going us, Jada.”

Chris Rock did not press charges against Will Smith and he has only briefly publicly addressed The Slap. After admitting that he will make a statement after he has fully processed what happened to him, Rock told his audience at one of his stand up shows, After being welcomed with a standing ovation, Rock told the audience, “I’m OK, I have a whole show, and I’m not talking about that until I get paid. Life is good. I got my hearing back.”

Jada did not mention roughly when the episode of them discussing the Oscars might air. Only time will tell.
