Jacob Roloff has bravely come forward to address a tragic experience that happened to him during his time on Little People, Big World.Â
In an emotional statement he shared on Instagram, Jacob claimed he was molested by a producer who worked on the show when he was a child. He also called out the practice of filming reality TV.
In his lengthy post, Jacob claimed how he had been groomed and molested by producer Chris Cardamone.
Jacob revealed how he as been contemplating coming forward about what allegedly happened since November 2015, when he received a text message from Cardamone. He now wants to speak out so this traumatic event can be “exorcised of any further power over my development,” he said.
He then went on to share how, “as a child, after what I realize now was a long grooming process, I was molested by an executive field producer for Little People, Big World.”
Jacob then added how he hopes Cardamone is never around children again.

While he did not go into detail, he did want to speak on exploitation.
“I continue my own contemplation on the voyeurism involved in the entire enterprise of reality television — a massive spectacle of drama and pain and argument and invasion, with a little joy sprinkled over, that viewers watch completely dissociated from the complex humans inside the simplistic ‘characters’ they see on TV.”
In addition, he made it very clear how it was not his family’s fault, writing, “all fault lies with the predator.”
His mother, Amy Roloff, was one of the first of the family members to comment on his statement: “I love you forever and always Jacob. I’m proud of you. Now you don’t have to feel alone and carry this around anymore.”
Matt Roloff revealed how “very proud” of his son for coming forward. Jacob’s wife, Isabel Sofia Rock, said the same, commenting, “Proud to know you, proud to love you, proud to be your wife.”
Sister Molly Roloff also commented her support. “Very very very proud of you, brother,” she shared. “Know that I’m with you 100%.”
His brother Jeremy Roloff‘s wife, Audrey, praised a particular sentence where Jacob wrote, “Asking harder preliminary questions.”
“Love that line,” Audrey commented. “Hate that you had to live through this Jacob. We love you and are for you (sic).”
