Identical twins, Briana and Brittany Salyers share more than just their genes.
The sisters, who are both 35, also married twin brothers on the same day in Twinsburg, Ohio.
In addition to their wild similarities, the two sisters also became mothers around the same time when they welcomed their baby boys just a few months apart. And while logistically, the two are cousins, they are also technically siblings.
The sisters both fell in love with their respective husbands, Josh and Jeremy Salyers, 37, at the same time. And when it came time to get married, they both were ready to commit and move forward. And so when it came to having kids, they were all on board.
“We were hoping that we would have overlapping pregnancies so that this would happen,” Briana recently told Today Parents. “We thought it would be really cool.”

If you’re not sure what the sister is referring to, she is talking about having “quaternary twins,” which is so rare, many have not heard of it.
It is what happens when two sets of identical twins each have a set of babies at around the same time.
And as they share same DNA, this means Briana and Brittany’s genetic codes are the same, just as Josh and Jeremy’s are.
So, when Jett was born in January 2021 and Jax was born that April, while the two are legally cousins — genetically, they’re basically brothers. And technically, they are also sort of twins!

According to Briana, there have only been 300 or so “quaternary marriages” known in the history of the world.
To make things even more interesting, both families live together in Virginia.
“It was something we all four wanted and when we got engaged, we all wanted it that way,” shared Brittany, who added that Josh and Jeremy “understand the twin bond like we do” and enjoy all of the together time they get.
“We are debating if we should go for one more pregnancy each or not,” admitted Briana. “We will make a decision pretty soon. The babies are still pretty young [and] we are trying to wait a little longer to see what to do.”
