Homework is challenging for kids and grownups alike. Hilary Duff recently took to Instagram to lament that she’s struggling to help her seven-year-old, Luca, with his homework.
“Homework is already no joke in 2nd grade. I stopped going to ‘real’ school in third grade so I’m actually doomed,” the Younger star shared on Instagram. “I am left scratching my head all the tie looking at his homework and I’m terrified for next year!”

The Lizzie McGuire star began seriously acting when she was just 11-years-old, so she was homeschooled on sets rather than attending traditional school to accommodate shoot schedules.
Duff isn’t the only one dealing with homework woes. “My little is only 3 and I’m already terrified about having to do any post grade 2 math,” one fan wrote.
“My son’s math homework was so tricky the other night that I had to send it to my friend who is a math teacher. My son, too, is in the 2nd grade,” another wrote.
In addition to helping with homework, the mom of two has a full plate: she’s prepping for the reboot of Lizzie McGuire, while managing home life with her fiancé, Matthew Koma, Luca and her daughter, Banks Violet Bair.
All parents with school-age kids know that homework is… hard. Sometimes too hard. Sometimes it’s easy to beat yourself up, feel stupid, or even feel angry that homework is the way it is. So it’s good we have people like Hilary Duff to remind us that we are not alone in the struggle.
