On November 25, 2017, 15-year-old Heaven Cox went missing from her Texas home. As Dearly previously reported, Cox left after being contact with a “grown man” on Snapchat.
When she disappeared, Cox was off her medications for bipolar disorder.

Her mom, Tammy, wrote on Facebook in late November 2017 that she believed the man her daughter was talking to agreed to pick her up on his way from San Antonio, Texas:
I have an update and it isn’t good. After putting pressure on Jhonathon White, he told me what I was after. He knew that Heaven had been talking to a grown man from California on Snapchat. Why he didn’t feel it was important to tell me, I don’t know, but it is what it is. The man she has been talking to is a predator, who has apparently been manipulating her for some time, and in her current state of mind, she believes that he is her friend. She left a goodbye note to me and her Dad, and said that she wouldn’t have a phone, so I’m sure he has taken it from her, as it isn’t here, and I have torn her room apart. […]
She is off her meds and is in a manic phase of bipolar disorder. I am asking everyone to share this to their wall, and particularly those who live in California and every state between there and Texas. This man told her that he would be in San Antonio for Thanksgiving and that he would pick her up.
Five days later, Cox was found safe in a home in Louisiana that’s owned by a relative of the man she was with and was eventually reunited with her worried family, as previously reported.
After getting her daughter back, Tammy took to Facebook to thank everyone for their help while reminding others to “look at every single missing poster twice and then twice more.”
On Saturday, two months after being reunited with her daughter, Tammy made a heartbreaking announcement regarding her teenage daughter.
She wrote:
Our sweet Heaven left us to be with Jesus this afternoon around 4:00. Some bright lights are not meant for this dark and cruel world. I know that Dusty and Gracie were there to welcome her. Sing with the angels sweet girl. I love you.
As 11 Alive reports, the cause of Heaven Cox’s death has not been confirmed.
In a comment on her Facebook post, the mom thanked the over 500 people who offered their condolences adding, “My heart is broken, she was the light and life in my home. I’m going to miss her terribly.”
