Can’t a woman just eat a big meal or – god forbid – put on some weight without the world thinking that she’s pregnant? Last week, popular musician Halsey and her boyfriend, actor Evan Peters, were enjoying a lovely day in Santa Monica when a paparazzi took a photo of the stars both touching Halsey’s stomach.
The photo was then posted on numerous entertainment sites and social media accounts and the rumor that Halsey was pregnant took off pretty quickly.

Halsey Responds to Pregnancy Rumors
At first, Halsey took the photo in stride, responding to the pic, saying, “Still not pregnant. Still just allergic to gluten. Still love pancakes.”
She continued, “Is it a boy? Is it a girl? It’s pancakes.”
And It Was More Than Just a Fun Clapback
She didn’t stop there, though, posting again the following day to address the fact that pregnancy rumors can be hurtful and dangerous.
“Pregnancy is a super sensitive subject. Some celebrities are open about having any struggles with reproductive health. Some are not. Either way it seems really inappropriate to target someone and speculate about something so precious and personal,” she wrote.
Can we get an AMEN?!?!
Halsey’s Health Struggles Inspire Fans
The singer, who is typically very private about this particular subject, has endometriosis which can cause painful menstrual cramps, chronic back and pelvic pain, pain during sex, digestive problems, miscarriage, and infertility. As a result of her endometriosis, Halsey has had miscarriages and surgeries.
Her post encouraged fans to open up about their own struggles with endometriosis and fertility issues and rallied behind the 25-year-old.
So let’s cool it with the pregnancy speculation, huh? But if it must continue, we hope more celebrities take Halsey’s approach to responding.
