The last time we heard from singer Grimes or Tesla CEO Elon Musk, there little boy’s name was X Æ A-Xii Musk, or X for short. Grimes and Musk welcomed their baby boy into the world on May 4.
According to the new mom, X Æ A-Xii Musk’s name has multiple meanings. “X, the unknown variable. Æ, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence) •A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent + (A=Archangel, my favorite song) (metal rat),” Grimes wrote on Twitter.
Originally, X’s name was spelled X Æ A-12. However, as Grimes explained on Instagram their son’s name wasn’t allowed to have numbers in it, so they changed the 12 to a roman numeral 12. Which, as Grimes shared, “looks better [to be honest],” before confirming that one dash is allowed.
Grimes and Musk Change Spelling of Baby Son’s Name… Again.
Now, after their son’s birth certificate was made public, it appears as though the parents changed X’s name again. As it turns out, in order for a name to be legally recorded on a birth certificate, it can only contain the 26 letters in the alphabet. Meaning it wasn’t just the 12 that caused the issues but also the Æ symbol.
Now, X’s full name is spelled X AE A-XII Musk, according to TMZ.
According to the parents, their son’s full name will be pronounced X Ash-A 12 Musk,” the dad explained while on Joe Rogan’s podcast. The new mom recently updated her fans on how she’s feeling after singer Ashnikko released the song they collaborated on.
After explaining how honored she was to be on a song with Ashnikko, Grimes also apologized. “Sorry, this write up sucks. I’m still mentally totally a wreck after baby for some reason. Like my IQ is down about 50 points and words seem weirdly difficult lol,” she wrote on Instagram.
