Adoption is a beautiful thing for a lot of families. It’s a way for adults to become parents, sometimes for the first time, and it gives children the opportunity to know what it’s like to be loved.
Take this little girl, for example. This is Gabby. She and her little sister, Lilly, were adopted from China by a family from Dallas, Texas.

And while taking a trip down memory lane with her mother, Gabby made her mom’s heart melt for the sweet things she had to say about the moment she learned she and Lilly were being adopted.
Gabby began by saying, “When me and Lilly was born, you know how we got born? Well when we was born, we were little babies. And then, Lilly was still a baby and I was 4 years old. I got so big and Lilly was still a baby.”
Then Gabby got into the time when she met her parents for the first time. “And when the time you see her she was 1-year-old and by the time you see me, I was 4 years old! And we was very excited to meet you and our daddy.”
In the background, you can hear Gabby’s mother in “awe” of the little girl’s sweet world. But Gabby wasn’t done just yet. She went on to say, “And we love you guys and we want to be here for you and daddy.”
“Well, do you know what happened to my heart? Well, remember the first time I told you? When I saw you, my heart fell in love with you.”

If that doesn’t just melt your heart completely, nothing will. The video soon went viral after it was first shared by Gabby’s family on September 26.
And people from all over the world gushed over Gabby’s adorable words to her mother. One person wrote on Instagram, “Wow on replay with tears streaming down my face.” And another commenter added, “Sweetest thing I’ve ever seen.”
In the United States, 428,000 children are in the foster care system. And of those children in the system, every year, roughly 135,000 children are adopted, according to the Adoption Network. On average, children in foster care spend two to five years in the system before they find their forever home. However, some are never adopted.
