George Clooney recalls who Donald Trump really was prior to his 2016 campaign in a new interview on the BBC’s The Andrew Marr Show.
“It’s so funny because he was just this knucklehead,” the 60-year-old actor and filmmaker said of Trump, 75.
“I knew him before he was a president. He was just a guy who was chasing girls. Every time you went out, he’d come over and be like, ‘What’s the name of that girl?’ That’s all he was.”
Clooney, said of Trump’s fans — “this whole group of people that … think he’s the champion” — are people the former president “certainly can’t stand” in real life. But Clooney believes Trump will remain “a factor for a while.”
“He’s going to play this out for a while, and we’ll see where we go with it as a country,” Clooney said. “My hope is we have a little better sense than to do that again.”
And when speaking about Joe Biden, he believes that he needs to do a lot of cleaning up after the former president.

“It’s like taking a battered child and thinking everything’s going to be okay on his first day of school,” Clooney said. “There’s a lot of things that have to be repaired.”
George Clooney is passing down his practical jokes. George’s wife, Amal Clooney, recently joked how her husband spent most of quarantine teaching pranks to their four-year-old twins, daughter Ella and son Alexander.
“You just feel so bad for the world and all of that, you know? But our kids are four and they were two-and-a-half when it started so you know, they weren’t missing out on much out in the world,” George informed Entertainment Tonight.
“So, you know, I didn’t have to teach them trigonometry at home.”

Amal , 43, jumped in, admitting: “He’s mainly teaching pranks for the time being. But we’ll see if it develops.”
George replied, “Well, I think those can really pay off over time.”
But teasing aside, Amal called her hubby a “great teacher” and gushed about how “lucky” she was to have a “supportive partner.”
“It’s probably like many families where both parents work,” she said of the balancing act. “I’m lucky because I have a very supportive partner. And we do move around a lot, but we manage it, and I feel very lucky.”
