Gabby Petito’s Dad Announces Store That Will Help Fund Her Foundation That Helps Families of Missing People & Those Affected By Domestic Abuse

Gabby Petito’s father, Joseph Petito, has revealed that the foundation they created in honor of their daughter’s life has a new addition. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Gabby Petito passed away at the age of 22 during a cross-country trip with her former fiancé Brian Laundrie.

Now her family has created a foundation called The Gabby Petito Foundation. As the mission statement states, “the mission of the foundation is to address the needs of organizations that support locating missing persons and to provide aid to organizations that assist victims of domestic violence situations, through education, awareness, and prevention strategies.”

As it continues on the foundation’s official website, “We wish to turn our personal tragedy into a positive. It is our hope that Gabby’s foundation will bring these important issues into the forefront of the public eye to the benefit of all our communities.”

Now, the official storefront for the foundation has opened. The proceeds from the sales will directly benefit the foundation in order to fulfill its mission statement.

The Gabby Petito Foundation is selling both silicone and metal “Justice for Gabby” bracelets:

Prior to Petito’s tragic passing, she and Laundrie were visiting several national parks when she went missing sometime between August 27 and August 30. Two days later, on September 1, Laundrie returned to Florida where they had been living prior to their trip in the white Ford van they modified specifically for their vacation.

Petito was not with him and his family refused to help Petito’s family find their daughter. By September 11, Petito was officially reported as a missing person.

On September 19, Gabby’s body was found in Wyoming near the last place their van was spotted by a YouTube family also camping in the Grand Tetons. An autopsy revealed that Gabby had died by manual strangulation. Her death had been ruled a homicide.

The only person of interest ever named in the case was Brian Laundrie. However, on September 13, Laundrie left his Florida home to go on a hike and never returned.

On October 20, Laundrie’s skeletal remains were found in a Florida Park along with his dry bag and a notebook. Some sources believe the notebook may still be legible but what is in the notebook remains unclear.
