As Mamas Uncut previously reported at length, 21-year-old Gabby Petito when missing while on a four-month-long cross-country trip with her fiancé Brian Laundrie. The couple had remodeled a white Ford van, which they lived in while traveling.
The couple began their trip in July 2021 from Florida where they lived with Laundrie’s parents. Sadly, the trip took a tragic turn after cracks began to form in Petito and Laundrie’s relationship.
After being investigated for a domestic dispute in Moab, Utah, Petito went missing. The last known contact she made with her parents was on August 27.
By September 1, Laundrie had left their last known location, the Grand Teton National Park, and returned to Florida in the white Ford van but without Gabby. By September 11, Petito was officially named a missing person.
Soon after, on September 13, Laundrie, the only person of interest in the case, told his parents he was going on a walk and that was the last police and his family saw of him.
By September 19, thanks to YouTube videos, TikTok posts, and other eyewitnesses, Petito’s body was discovered just a few miles from where their white Ford van was last located. An autopsy confirmed that Petito was murdered and her cause of death was manual strangulation.
Nearly one month later, Laundrie’s remains were discovered in a Florida park he frequented near his parents’ home. His cause of death was revealed to be a single gunshot wound to the end.
Also located near his remains where a dry bag that contained his personal notebook. It was in that notebook that revealed the truth no one knew if they would ever learn.
