Najib Monsif, 20, has been missing for over a week and his family is asking the Scottsdale and Arizona communities to help them bring their boy home safely.
Najib was last seen on Sept. 23 at his home in north Scottsdale. His family fears that Najib, who is autistic, is with a person he does not know and is in danger.
In a Sept. 27 press conference,S cottsdale Police said the desert and canal areas near his home have been searched via bicycle, on foot, drone and by air.
His father was the last person to see Najib. He informed Scottsdale Police he saw Najib walk out of his room with a bag late that night.
Najib, who also goes by Jubi (pronounced Ju-bee), has black eyes, brown hair and is about 6 feet tall with a lean figure. He walks with a shuffle and tends to hold the collar of his shirt. He does not drive and does not have his phone with him.
Josie Monsif, Najib’s older sister, informed The Arizona Republic that Scottsdale police communicate regularly with the family regarding the investigation, revealing how they have gone door-to-door and obtained search warrants for homes in the area.

“They’re doing honestly everything they can,” Josie said.
“There’s nothing out of the question. They’re checking cars, backyards. There’s horses, search dogs, they’re scraping every inch of the desert.”
Josie said family very important to Najib, and that his older brother George was his “favorite person in the world.”
She said Najib loved spending time with his brother when he came to visit from college. Najib would spend most of his time at home playing games and talking over Xbox Live with George.
Due to the pandemic, Josie stated that Najib had been spending most of his time at home, noting he had no favorite place that he would have gone to on his own. In addition, she said it would be out of character for him to go anywhere without one of his family members.
The missing man was last seen at his home at 2 a.m. on Thursday in Scottsdale.
“He could be anywhere,” Josie said. “The unknown of this is a nightmare. Not having any leads, one sighting, not one idea of what direction; it’s just terrifying,” Josie said. “You don’t know anything and you’re just waiting.”
The Monsif family is urging the community to follow the story for any updates and to contact officials with any information. A GoFundMe has also been started to help the Monsif family to bring their missing family member home.
