The body of Evelyn Mae Boswell was found last week after the young girl had gone missing after the holidays. Now, her father is speaking out and sharing that he is confident that Evelyn’s killer will be brought to justice.
“Our focus has always been Evelyn and now on the investigation and bringing all of those responsible to justice,” Ethan Perry, Evelyn’s father, said in a statement to WJHL. “We have complete faith and confidence in law enforcement to do just that.”

“We ask you all again to please respect our privacy,” the statement continued. “At the same time, we would also like to thank the public for their outpouring of love for Evelyn and law enforcement for their incredible dedication to this case.”

Perry did not have custody of Evelyn at the time of her disappearance and it has not been revealed when he and her mother broke up. Evelyn had been missing since December, but her mother, Megan “Maggie” Boslyn, did not report her missing until February.
Since filing the report, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reported that Maggie gave conflicting reports to the police. “Every time we talk to her, her story changes,” Sullivan County Sheriff Jeff Cassidy said at the time of Maggie’s arrest on February 25. “And I’m serious about that. Every single time.”

In addition to his statement, Perry urged people not to donate to any unauthorized fundraisers. “It has come to our attention there are various unauthorized fundraising efforts on Evelyn’s and our family’s behalf in regards to Evelyn. Also, there are those on social media claiming to speak for our family, these claims are false.”
Maggie claimed that her mother, Angela Boswell, had kidnapped Evelyn and was keeping her at a campground in Virginia. Angela and her reported friend William McCloud were both arrested after the allegations were made, though they have not been charged with kidnapping. Maggie remains in prison and has not entered a plea.
