Posting to Instagram and in a statement to Vanity Fair, Evan Rachel Wood has alleged that Marilyn Manson groomed and abused her for years.

Wood, who was engaged to Manson for a short period of time in 2010, had spoken publicly in the past about being abused but never gave a name to her perpetrator.

Manson flat out denied the accusations earlier this week on Instagram.

“The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson,” Wood wrote. “He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”

In addition, Vanity Fair published statements from four additional women who came forward about their experiences with Manson.

“Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality,” Manson wrote in a statement.

“My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how—and why—others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth.”

Wood, shared with Rolling Stone in 2016 about her “physical, psychological, [and] sexual” abuse from a partner. She also revealed how she had been raped by “a significant other while [they] were together.”

In 2018, she testified before a House Judiciary Subcommittee in support of the Sexual Assault Survivors Bill of Rights — and the following year, she testified for the Phoenix Act before California legislators. A sexual assault case that was brought against Manson in 2011 was publicly revealed in 2018 — at the time, his lawyer “categorically” denied the claims.
