Actors Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling tend to keep their personal life with their two daughters very private. However, thanks to social media, we occasionally get a tiny glimpse into Mendes’ life as a mom.

The actress, best known for her roles in Hitch and Ghost Rider, recently took to Instagram to send a message to all the other moms out there. The picture showed Mendes in her pajamas laying in bed.

The mom wrote she was still in her bed on that Sunday morning, unsuccessfully, trying to hide from her and Goslings’ two little girls while still rocking her eye makeup from the night before.

“Sunday. Still in bed. Trying to hide from my kids. (not having success) And no, I didn’t wash my makeup off last night. I know, I know so bad,  yadda yadda but I like the “next day of the night before “ eye make up look. My skin disagrees tho.”

Mendes then sent a message to all the other moms out there. Because even though moms love their children immensely, they still need a minute to themselves every once in a while. “To all you mamas out there, hope you find a moment to sneak away from the madness today even for a few minutes. ‘Calgon take me awayyyyy’ (the older moms will know what that means).”

The 45-year-old actress was referring to a popular commercial from 1978. The commercial for Calgon, a popular brand of bubble bath back then, shows a mom yelling, “That does it! Calgon, take me awayyyyy,” after life as a working mother gets to be a little too much.

Mendes and Gosling first became parents in 2014 after becoming a couple in 2011 when they met on the set of the movie Beyond the Pines.

After giving birth to the couple’s first child, Esmeralda Amada, now 5, Mendes stepped away from Hollywood to stay home. Two years later, the couple welcomed their now 3-year-old daughter, Amada Lee.

In a recent conversation with Kelly Clarkson on her new talk show, Mendes opened up a little more about her decision to step away from acting in 2014 to be a stay-at-home mom. She admitted that the transition was harder than she anticipated. And not because she missed being an actress, but rather because she underestimated how hard being a stay-at-home mom would be.

“Nobody told me it was gonna really be a job. And a job that I needed an incredible amount of skill for, like in different areas. A chauffeur, a cook, a personal assistant to an abusive boss. They’re not grateful. Oh my God, do they get grateful? Does that happen at some point? In any other profession, you would need to take a test or pass a test. The only test a needed to pass was a pregnancy test.”

The 45-year-old mom of two then went on to say the hardest part of parenting little ones is the “amount of snacks I need to carry all day long.” And Clarkson agreed. Mendes also revealed that she and Gosling have similar parenting styles in that they are both “helicopter parents” and “bulldozer parents.”

According to Parents.com, bulldozer, or lawnmower, parents “mow obstacles down” and “are easily willing to drop everything to fulfill their child’s wants and demands no matter how small.” And helicopter parents are “overprotective parents who feel the need to control most aspects of their child’s life.”

Both Mendes and Clarkson joked that if they weren’t “helicopter parents” their houses would surely flood, or something would be set on fire.

Nonetheless, while parenting is undoubtedly hard regardless of if you’re a working parent or a stay-at-home parent, Mendes said in an interview with Access that being a mom is “beautiful” and “fun” and she is “so thankful I have the opportunity to be home with them.”
