Emma Heming Willis had quite the ‘epic’ birthday week, which was spent celebrating with friends, family, and loved ones. The model turned 44 years old on Sunday (June 18) and took to Instagram to share her birthday wishes – one of which was presented as a friendly challenge to all of her fans and followers.

“Text or call a person in your life that’s a caregiver and let them know here is X, Y, or Z I can do to help you this week,” she asked of her followers. It’s a topic that means a lot to Emma, who has been in a caregiving role with her husband, Bruce Willis, ever since he was diagnosed with dementia and FTD.

“If the caregiver says, “I’m fine, I don’t need anything,” which most likely is what they just might say, then drop some food at their doorstep or flowers or a small something and text them after to let them know it’s there,” she wrote in the caption. “Or honestly, just tell them thank you and that they are doing a great job.“

Alongside the caption, Emma Heming Willis shared photos from her birthday week – which included photos of her children, her friends, her personal trainer, and (of course) her husband. It’s moments like these that the family cherishes more and more every single day, especially with Bruce’s health declining.

Bruce Willis was forced to retire from acting in March 2022 after he was diagnosed with dementia. One year later, in February 2023, his family announced he was diagnosed with frontotemporal degeneration, also known as FTD – which results in ‘damage to neurons in the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain.’

Willis has seen his family rally around him over the past 12 months, including his wife (Emma Hemming Willis), ex-wife (Demi Moore), and five daughters. He shares three daughters – Tallulah, 28, Scout, 31, and Rumer, 34 – with Demi and two daughters – Evelyn Penn, 8, and Mabel Ray, 10 – with Emma.

Emma and Bruce met one another in 2007 while working out in the gym – this was a few years after Bruce ended his engagement to Brooke Burns. The couple got married in March 2009 and recently celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary two months ago as they continue their happily ever after.

Emma Heming Willis Praises Her Husband in Father’s Day Post

Sunday (June 18) was much more than just Emma Heming Willis’ 44th birthday – it was Father’s Day! And while she took to Instagram to celebrate her birthday, she also took to Instagram to celebrate her husband and father of her children, Bruce Willis. In fact, that post came an hour before her birthday post.

“Father’s Day is a time I get to reflect on my deep appreciation and respect I have for Bruce as I watch him father our little ones,” she wrote. “Where it might not be ‘conventional,’ what he’s teaching them will span generations. Unconditional love, kindness, strength, compassion, patience, generosity, resilience.”

She proceeded to wish her husband a Happy Father’s Day and described him as ‘the greatest dad I know, who will forever be the gift that keeps giving within our family.’ It’s a sentiment millions of sons and daughters shared across the world as we tipped our hats to the fathers out there setting a good example.

And for all you history buffs out there, the first Father’s Day was observed on June 19, 1910, but it wasn’t recognized as a national holiday at the time. In fact, it took another six decades before it was observed as such, finally being celebrated as a national holiday in 1972 – 58 years after the inaugural Mother’s Day.
