For the first time ever, after years of rumors, rapper and creator Drake has finally opened about being a father. For the first two years of his son’s life, Drake kept his son’s identity private, that is until now.
On March 30, Drake took to his Instagram account to share images of his young son, Adonis, with his 64.8 million followers. The pictures show Drake looking lovingly at his son, a throwback photo of his own mother and father, as well as images of Adonis with his mother, Sophie Brussaux, and more.

Drake paired the photos with a lengthy caption that talked about people’s “inner light.” The performer began, writing, “What is most important for you right now is to connect to your own inner light. This will create the biggest opening of all. Trust that you have all of the power within to make this happen, and in order to do that connect to the people and things that bring you a lot of joy. When the mind starts to move into overthinking or fear, shift your attention right away to something bright.”

He then continued, adding, “It doesn’t matter what has happened in the past or what is happening around us now, you can always make the choice to break free of the wheel of suffering and panic and open up to your own light. We are powerful manifestors, so once you make the choice in the moment to shift your awareness to something good, it will show you in your reality. Be conscious, especially right now of fears coming in from others, and recognize that not everything should be held by you.”

Remember that you are never alone, and if you need to be reminded of that ask for support and it will show up. After Drake shared a little piece of his life as a dad with his fans, people were stunned to learn that Adonis was born with blonde hair and blue eyes. As TMZ reported, it is believed that Drake shared an image of his mother from years past to show that Adonis inherited his stunning features from his paternal grandmother.
