Dr. Dre’s Wife Nicole Young Wants $2M a Month in Temporary Spousal Support Amid Divorce

Nicole Young and Dr. Dre are in the midst of a heated divorce. The music mogul’s soon-to-be-ex is asking for a hefty sum of money, nearly $2 million a month, in temporary spousal support TMZ reports. The couple announced their split in June and Young is also asking for $5 million to cover legal fees.

Dre’s reported net worth is upwards of $800 million. We suppose if you’re used to living that large, $2 million a month isn’t such a big ask???

Nicole Young is asking $1,936,399 and an additional $5 million in lawyer fees from Dre.

That $5 million is to cover the cost of lawyers accrued over the course of just two months! According to unnamed sources, TMZ reports that the mogul is planning to fight it.

According to the outlet, Young and Dre are (obviously) estranged, but nothing has changed in the living arrangements since the divorce was filed. She still lives in their Malibu house and has access to all the cars, personal chefs, and ‘other luxuries.’

TMZ‘s sources explained that the rapper is going to push back, arguing Nicole doesn’t need anywhere close to that amount since her lifestyle hasn’t changed. Nicole, on the other hand, will argue she doesn’t want to depend on him paying all the bills, thus the need for that temporary support.

Before this, the outlet reported that things were heating up as Young is alleging that Dre forced her to sign a prenuptial agreement in 1996. She is challenging its validity. According to her, 2 years into their 24-year marriage, he felt ashamed about the prenup and tore it up in front of her.

“Before our wedding date, Andre [Dre] demanded that I sign a premarital agreement that 16 of his lawyers had drafted,” Young said in a declaration attached to the filing.

“I was extremely reluctant, resistant, and afraid to sign the agreement and felt backed into a corner,” the declaration continued. “Given the extraordinary pressure and intimidation by Andre, I was left with no option but to hire a lawyer (of course, with the help of Andre’s team of professionals) and unwillingly signed the agreement very shortly before our marriage.”

“Andre acknowledged to me that he felt ashamed he had pressured me into signing a premarital agreement and he tore up multiple copies of the agreement in front of me,” Young contends. “Since the day he tore up the agreements, we both understood that there was no premarital agreement and that it was null and void.”

Dre denies this account and expects the prenup to be enforced. In July, he filed a response to the divorce filing, claiming there was a prenup and it should dictate how their property is split up.

The couple wed on May 25, 1996, and they have two adult children together, a son named Truice and a daughter named Truly, so no child custody or support battles are on the horizon. Divorce is never fun, but for this case, there’s already been a good deal revealed to the press with plenty of twists and turns. We’re interested to learn more about Young’s request and how the court will rule. A prenup is a prenup, but the mother of your two children is entitled to her fair share of the pie.
