New breaking reports have revealed that a New York grand jury has voted to indict former President Donald Trump, according to NBC.
The case surrounds the allegations that Trump wrote adult film star Stormy Daniels a check for $130,000 in 2016. The check was reportedly “hush money” to keep Daniels from claiming that she slept with Trump while he was married in 2006.
Trump has repeatedly denied ever having relations with Daniels. The former president labeled the payment as a “legal expense.” This is the first time in American history that a former president has been indicted.
The news of the indictment comes after Trump claimed he was preparing to be arrested a week ago.
According to the reports, he revealed that he expected to be arrested on Tuesday, March 21. According to CNN, the arrest is allegedly “in connection with the investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney next week and called for protests as New York law enforcement prepares for a possible indictment.”
Trump made the announcement of his impending arrest on social media while also calling on his supporters to protest. In part, he wrote, “leading Republican candidate and former president of the United States will be arrested on Tuesday of next week. Protest, take our nation back.”
Should Trump be inducted next week, it will be a historic first for the country. Despite his legal woes, however, Trump still has plans to run for re-election in 2024.
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, we all have our own opinions on what went down with the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol in 2021, but former Vice President Mike Pence is making sure everyone knows exactly where he stands while speaking at the Gridiron Club Dinner in Washington, D.C. over the weekend – and he didn’t mince words.
Not only did he call out former President Donald Trump for his actions that day – or lack thereof – but he expressed his gratitude for the many heroes that stepped up in the face of adversity to ensure the safety of those inside and nearby the Capitol at the time of the attack – including law enforcement and media.
“For as long as I live, I will never, ever diminish the injuries sustained, the lives lost, or the heroism of law enforcement on that tragic day,” he said in his speech on Saturday. He thanked them for preserving and strengthening ‘this great democracy’ and preserving the ‘freedom’ that so many often take for granted.
Mike Pence also continued to shoot down Donald Trump’s claims that the former VP had the power to overturn the election. In fact, Pence made it abundantly clear – “I had no right to overturn the election,” Pence said, calling the insurrection a ‘disgrace’ and even flat-out saying, “President Trump was wrong.’
“And his reckless words endangered my family and everyone at the Capitol that day, and I know history will hold Donald Trump accountable,” Pence continued. “The American people have a right to know what took place at the Capitol on Jan. 6, and I expect members of the fourth estate to continue to do their job.”
For those that don’t remember, a group of nearly 2,000 Trump supporters attacked and began to take control of the Capitol building on January 6, 2021 – just as hundreds of members of the Senate and House of Representatives were preparing to count the electoral college, ending President Trump’s term.
The rioters caused nearly $3 million in damages to the building and surrounding area, but that doesn’t even tell the whole story. Five rioters were pronounced dead either moments before, during, or after the attack, 138 police officers were injured, and five police officers died – four of which committed suicide.
Mike Pence Makes Several Jokes About Donald Trump
In addition to speaking sincerely about the January 6 insurrection and the many heroes that helped preserve democracy, Mike Pence didn’t hesitate to crack some jokes – not just at Donald Trump, but at other politicians on both sides of the spectrum – which has almost become a tradition at the dinner.
He joked that Donald Trump should sing the song ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ because his ego is so fragile. He also joked that some of the classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago were found in Trump’s bible, which is proof that he didn’t know they were there and that Trump taught him a lot about subpoenas.
“I mean, he’s never called me a low-energy moron. Not yet. Honestly, I learned a lot working beside Donald Trump, like about subpoenas, for instance,” Mike Pence said of Donald Trump. The two began their term with a close relationship, but that relationship was severed by the end of it – allegedly.

Not all of his jokes hit the mark, though. At one point during the speech, he joked that Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg got to take ‘maternity leave’ after he and his husband adopted twins and said he’s the ‘only person in human history to have a child and everyone else gets postpartum depression.’
