Amaia Arrieta is a designer that has worked closely with the royal family in the past. In particular, Arrieta is known to have worked closely with Princess Catherine and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, through their nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo.

Now, the designer is speaking out, revealing how she feels about the news of the princess’s cancer diagnosis.

While talking with The Telegraph, Arrieta told the publication that she is heartbroken over what Princess Catherine is dealing with. Catherine announced her cancer diagnosis to the world in March 2024.

“I’m heartbroken at the moment. I think they are going through hell,” Arrieta told The Telegraph.

“I hope they will be back. It’s really personal,” Arrieta continued.

Despite Arrieta’s thoughts, just a few days ago, Prince William offered an update on how his family is doing. “Do you mind if I ask how your wife and children are?” one well wisher asked Prince William, according to TIME. “All doing well, thank you. Yes, we’re doing well,” he responded.

The designer then got senitmental remembering the first time Prince George wore one of her designs. “The first time I realized Prince George was wearing my designs, I was in Waitrose and saw the picture of him on the cover of Hello! magazine. That was a huge moment because they had been coming to us, but you never know if they’ll actually wear it.”

Nonetheless, Arrieta admitted there isn’t anything she wouldn’t do for Catherine and her family. “It’s often a very tight deadline. We would do anything for them…the children always look amazing in the end.”

According to People, the last time Princess Charlotte was seen in one of Arrieta’s designs was in the photo the royal family shared on UK’s Mother’s Day. The same photo that was flagged by the Associated Press for photoshop.

Arrieta designed the adorable plaid skirt Charlotte is seen wearing. “Dressing the royals gives me so much pride, I really do care about how they look,” she told The Telegraph
