Deion Sanders and Tracey Edmonds are calling it quits after an incredible 12 years together. The couple, who announced their engagement in 2019, confirmed their relationship status in an Instagram post on Sunday (Dec. 3) – describing it as a mutual decision and thanking everyone for their support.
“To EVERYONE who has been there for us, supported us, and shown us love…,” they wrote. “We have mutually decided that it is best for us to move forward in life AS FRIENDS and have made this decision with love in our hearts, respect for each other, and appreciation for the time we’ve shared together.”
They asked fans, followers, and members of the media to keep them in their prayers as they go through this tough transition. “Thank you for being there for us ALL THESE YEARS! We love and appreciate you SO MUCH!” the post continued – it was published on Edmonds’ profile, but signed by both of them.

Deion Sanders didn’t post about the breakup on his personal Instagram, but he did leave a comment on Edmonds’ post – the comments have since been turned off, but PEOPLE magazine managed to see it.

Sanders and Edmonds met in 2012. She had just produced a new movie and was attending the movie premiere when she ran into Deion Sanders. The conversation was short, but it was enough to leave Sanders wanting more – so he had a friend get her business card before the night came to an end.
It took a couple of months, but they finally met again to discuss a reality TV show idea Sanders had – Deion’s Family Playbook. The more they worked together, the more they fell for one another – it wasn’t long before they were dating. Seven years later, in 2019, the power duo announced their engagement.
