Dave Grohl says the viral post about his new baby is fake.
On Instagram, a user by the name of Valerie Greyson took to the social media platform to claim that she had given birth to the child Grohl had revealed he fathered recently.
The post, featured an image of an infant child, claiming her name was “Roxie Junie Grohl.”
“Your daddy was by my side through the entire pregnancy,” the lengthy post alleged, in part. “I’m so grateful for his love and support.”
The post quickly gained traction and began circulating on the internet.
Now, reps for Grohl are speaking out, slamming the post and telling TMZ that the post is entirely fake.
On Sept. 10, the lead singer of the “Foo Fighters” shared a statement about the child he fathered outside of his marriage.
The statement, shared on Instagram, revealed that Grohl is focused on regaining the trust of his family amid his infidelity.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl wrote. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.”
“I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he continued. “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
The singer and guitarist signed the statement, “Dave.”
Grohl has married to his wife Jordyn Blum Grohl since 2003. The couple celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary on Aug. 2.
Grohl and Blum have three children together, 18-year-old Violet Maye, 15-year-old Harper Willow, and 10-year-old Ophelia Saint.
According to Spin, Grohl and Blum met each other while she was a producer at MTV.
