Dakota Johnson Has Been Deceiving Fans For Months About Love for Citrus Fruit

Dakota Johnson lied to us all about limes and she is finally owning up to it, ten (long, arduous) months later. The actor went viral in a video produced by Architectural Digest in March 2020 because of her gorgeous home and also for a curious moment in her kitchen in which she waxed poetic about limes. At length.

In a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actor revealed that she had, in fact, lied about her love for limes and is, instead, lime-averse.

Dakota Johnson recounted the story of how the lime lies all started with Jimmy Fallon.

While giving a behind-the-scenes look at her all-green kitchen as part of a video home tour, Johnson pointed out a bowl of limes and exclaimed, “I love limes, I love them. They’re great. I love them so much and I like to present them like this in my house.”

She professed her love of limes and shared that with the entire world! It was such a beautiful moment, or so we thought. Her kitchen is even lime-colored! Now, the actress has confessed that she doesn’t love limes at all, and in fact, is allergic to the citrus fruit.

“I’m actually allergic to limes. I’m mildly allergic to limes and honeydew melon,” she told Fallon, noting that limes make her “tongue itch.”

The Fifty Shades of Grey explained that she did not even know that limes were in her home.

“I actually didn’t even know they were in there. I was giving the tour and went into the kitchen and it was set dressing,” she admitted.

“It was hard to just ignore them, so I just lied,” she proceeded. “I went the full opposite direction.”

“Unbelievable,” Fallon replied after bursting into laughter. “I’m glad you came clean.”

Twitter users were sent into a rage after the Fifty Shades of Grey star revealed her secret, calling it “the biggest plot twist of 2021.”

“As someone who loves to eat limes, i can no longer trust dakota johnson,” one user joked.

“Dakota Johnson selling her house with that kitchen is my villain origin story,” another person tweeted.

Architectural Digest also commented on the news, sharing that even they were “confused” at Johnson’s admission.

“This is honestly one of our favorite home tours, because we love green kitchens and limes and Dakota loves green kitchens and limes. We think?” the account for the AD wrote.

In all truthfulness, it’s always refreshing to see a very famous person get candid. It’s not often that many of us find ourselves in a home staged by someone else. Who knows how you would react if you were on camera, right?

We appreciate that Johnson “came clean” about her lime-lying ways and that she has not made the same mistake about limes or honeydew melon since then.
