A dad in Queensland left his sick five-year-old daughter alone in his car while he played poker with friends.
According to reports, the father left his daughter in a hot car before going into a local hotel in late July. A liquor store employee walking by the car noticed the girl. When she was found, she was “sweaty, with matted hair.” No food or water was found in the vehicle.

An unnamed father left his sick 5-year-old daughter in a hot car while he played poker at the Allenstown Hotel in Queensland.
The father, whose name has not been released because of legal reasons, is currently facing charges. The dad’s older daughter was supposed to be watching the girl, according to a lawyer. The father and his eldest child had had an argument and she left, however.
“He wasn’t thinking clearly at the time and was operating under stress,” defense attorney Zoe Craven told The Courier-Mail. “He exercised poor judgment.” She also told reporters that he was taking full responsibility for his actions.
His lawyer also shared that his young daughter suffers from multiple medical issues and that the father has been under financial stress.
The dad plead guilty to leaving a child unattended. He was sentenced to 18 months prion with a conviction record.
