In a truly tragic turn of events, a 29-year-old father lost his life while swimming in a public pool with his 6-year-old daughter.
The freak pool accident occurred in Perth, Australia when Jonathan Massandy broke his neck while swimming with his 6-year-old daughter, Bobbie.

Freak Pool Accident Claims Dad’s Life
The brave daughter alerted those around her that her father was underwater for an extended period of time.
The young father was taken to a local hospital where it was discovered that he had broken several vertebrae in his neck. He was taken off of life support three days later.

His partner and the young girl’s mother, Sarah Prijt, shared her knowledge of events with the Daily Mail Australia.
“All I’ve been able to get out of my daughter at the moment is that they were playing. He was teaching her how to penguin dive – when you squat and put your hands together in front of your head and then fall into the water.”

“Then she said ‘’Daddy didn’t come back up.’”
“She had to go find a lady, and a lady had to find a lifeguard but I don’t really know how long that took,” she added. “She’s only six so she doesn’t really understand the concept of time.”
“She understands what happened. She’s quite aware, actually – to be honest, she’s been such a trooper. I’m so proud to be her mum just because of how strong she’s being.”
The mom-of-two has created a GoFundMe page to help with the funeral costs.
