An Indiana couple is going viral for their hilarious announcement that they will never be expecting kids anytime soon with a vasectomy photo shoot.
Twenty-nine-year-old Tyler Frederick and his girlfriend, Chelsea Roy, 23, knew for quite some time that kids were not in the cards.
Prior to the pair dating, they admitted how they did not see themselves becoming parents.
“For as long as I can remember, I have not wanted to have kids,” Roy told Today. “And everyone who knew me knew that, so I wasn’t pressured much (to have kids) since my answer never changed.”
And her partner, Frederick, was in agreement.
“I have a lot of older cousins that don’t have kids, so I think they have taken the attention off of me a bit,” he told the news outlet. “I have not been too fond of children for a while, and my close friends and family have known that.”
And so, to honor both of their wishes, Frederick proceeded with a vasectomy.
Frederick was snipped in December 2021. And not long after, both he and Roy began to talk about an upbeat way to share their new lifestyle with the world: a pregnancy-style vasectomy photo shoot, of course!
“It was my idea,” Frederick told the outlet. “I wasn’t sure about it at first, but not opposed,” Roy admitted. “Then I ended up enjoying it.”
Frederick called on his photographer friend Elijah VanDine, who thought the idea was odd but ultimately, fun.

“He was happy to help,” Frederick said, “but was saying it was for sure a first for him.”
On the day of the shoot, Frederick and Roy invited all of their friends to make “posing with a pair of tighty whities in public” less awkward, Frederick said.
“We were all laughing at the situation,” he said “It was a fun time.”
And since the photos came out so well, the two decided it would only be fair to share them with the world on Facebook.

“We have a very exciting announcement to make! We are expecting… NEVER! Got snipped mid December and looking forward to the child free life,” Frederick wrote in the post from January 30.
Frederick revealed to the outlet how they did not expect to represent all child-free couples, but did say he is personally happy that the photos have helped others embrace their life paths.
“If these pictures makes things any easier for someone pressured into having kids, or helps normalize this choice, then I’m happy to have helped others even just a little,” he shared.
“(There’s) a growing number of people (who) are choosing the child-free life for many number of reasons, so it’s probably best to wait for them to bring up any news than asking quite personal questions.”
