On Sunday, March 21, you may have seen a familiar face on your screen if you were watching American Idol. During the most recent episode of the singing competition show, former counselor to President Trump, Kellyanne Conway’s daughter, Claudia Conway performed a duet in front of the three judges.
As the American Idol clip detailing the process showed, Claudia and her partner, fellow contestant Hannah Everhart, didn’t get along together at first. However, after some hard work and a pep talk from one of the judges, Katy Perry, Hannah and Claudia managed to put together a pretty solid performance filled with lovely harmonies and impressive belts.

However, the judges agreed during their deliberations that they could have done better. More specifically, they believed that Claudia and Hannah could have allowed each other to shine more, commenting that while their harmonies were great, it was too much and their performance left them wanting more.

The pair tackled Harry Styles’ song Sign of the Times. Bittersweetly, while the judges voted to send Hannah through to the next round, they also made the decision to cut Claudia’s time on the show short.
“Claudia, you’re just coming to life. I can see it in you. You’re taking control of your life and I applaud you for that. I hope you learned a lot and I hope you come and see us again,” Perry told Claudia at the end of the clip.
In the end, Claudia was a gracious partner, praising Hannah and admitting how deserving she is to be going forward. And an emotional Hannah only had great things to say about Claudia as well, calling her a “wonderful person” and thanking her for her continued support. How sweet is that? Women support women is a beautiful thing!
Claudia’s run on American Idol comes after months of her tumultuous relationship with her parents played out in the public eye. However, Claudia’s initial American Idol audition featured both of her parents, in which they showcased a much better relationship.
