People like to joke about Chuck Norris’ toughness, masculinity, and sophistication, but he’s just like the rest of us when Mother’s Day rolls around – just another man who isn’t afraid to show his love for his mother, wife, and all the other mothers in his life. And that’s exactly what he did for Mother’s Day 2023.
On May 13, Chuck Norris took to his Facebook Page to wish his wife and mother a happy Mother’s Day. “To my wonderful mom Wilma and my Lovely wife Gena…. I love you both more than words can say and thank God for the two of you every day,” he wrote in the caption – sharing photos of him with both loves.
Norris was born on March 10, 1940 in Ryan, Oklahoma to his mother, Wilma Norris Knight, and father, Ray Dee Norris. He married Dianne Kay Holechek in 1958 at the age of 18, but the couple divorced in 1988. He then married Gena O’Kelley in 1998 and the couple have been happily married ever since.

The post comes nearly two weeks after Chuck Norris posted the same photo of him and his lovely mother, Wilma, to honor her on her 102nd birthday – which fell on May 4. He gushed over how ‘full of life’ his other is, even at 102 years old – adding he wouldn’t be surprised to see her live another 100 years!
In addition to the post, he wrote about his mother’s birthday and paid tribute to the three women who helped shape him into the man he is today in a Culture Wars article – written by Norris and published by WorldNetDaily (WND). Those three women are his mother, wife, and grandmother, Granny Scarberry.
“A few different times over the years, I’ve written at length about my amazing wife, Gena, who brought me back to the faith I grew up with. This year, I want to introduce you to my Granny Scarberry by citing a little more from my mom’s inspirational autobiography,” he wrote before sharing quotes from his mom’s book.
Chuck Norris ended the article by trying to figure out what’s more difficult to believe – the fact that his mother was 102 years old or that she has an 83-year-old son (he turned 83 on March 10). “I’m so grateful you are my mom,” he wrote. “We’ve been through thick and thin in this life, and we are still going strong.”
More About the Life Chuck Norris’ Mother Lived
Chuck Norris’ mother, Wilma, was born in 1921 and was raised in poverty during the Great Depression, which impacted life for everyone around the world throughout the 1930s. Things wouldn’t get any easier for Wilma over the next few decades, but it’s her fighting spirit that inspired Norris to be who he is today.
Among the many struggles Wilma has faced in her lifetime include losing two husbands, losing a stepson, losing her biological son (Chuck’s younger brother, Wieland, who died in the Vietnam War), multiple battles with cancer, and undergoing several dozen surgeries. It hasn’t been an easy life, but it never is.
Today, Chuck Norris has five children of his own, two of which he shares with his current wife, Gena O’Kelley – 21-year-old twins Dakota (brother) and Danilee (sister). He also shares two sons – Michael, 60, and Eric, 57 – with his ex-wife, Dianne Holechek, and a daughter with an anonymous woman.
