Alright mamas: would you ever eat your placenta? HGTV star Christina Anstead let fans in on the fact that she has enthusiastically chosen to eat her placenta, in pill-form, after the birth of her child.
Christina and her husband Ant Anstead welcomed baby boy Hudson London on September 6. This is the couple’s first child together. She shares son Brayden, 4, and daughter Taylor, 9, with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa. Ant is the father to son Archie, 13, and daughter Amelie, 16.

The Flip or Flop star shared her postpartum plans via Instagram Stories. “First time I’ve tried it — and I think these placenta encapsulation [pills] are working.”
The mother of three also revealed that she overdid it post-op and is now on bed rest, with a message for other new mamas.
“Well… I’m a moron,” Anstead said. “I felt totally fine since one week postpartum- like zero pain… but I was resting and taking it easy … and then I threw Tay a bday party and was lifting and running around all weekend… and yesterday I woke up like oh crap … and today oh crap turned into oh sh** – I definitely hurt myself.”
She continues: “It’s not the c-section incision area that hurts it’s my left abdomen and it hurts bad ;/. So please anyone who just had a baby – don’t overdo it. I always want to be the people pleaser in the family and make sure everyone knows how much I care about them- but in doing so I wasn’t taking care of myself. Back to bed rest and baby cuddles.”
We’re wishing this hard-working mama a speedy recovery! And what do you think: Would you ever be like Christina Anstead and eat your placenta? Or is that too much? Let us know!
