Child of Tech Billionaire Found Days After Being Reported Missing

UPDATE: In a statement emailed to several media organization, it has been confirmed that Mint Butterfield has been found alive in San Francisco on April 27 by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office and the San Francisco Police Department.

“A heartfelt thanks to all the family, friends, volunteers and strangers who called in tips and made this recovery possible,” Mint’s family shared in a message, according to the San Francisco Standard. “We especially want to thank the seasoned law enforcement officers who understand the very real threat of predators who use the allure of drugs to groom teenagers.”

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office is asking people to keep an eye out for the 16-year-old child of one of the cofounder’s of Slack.

According to reports, Mint Butterfield was last seen on Sunday, April 21 at around 10 p.m. in Bolinas, California. Mint was reported several hours later on April 22 at 8:30 a.m.

The authorities shared a photo and a description of Mint on Nextdoor. They are described as 5-feet tall and weighs 100 pounds.

“Mint has brown/reddish curly hair and their eyebrows are pierced. They were last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, flannel pajama pants, and black boots.”

It’s believed Mint may have ran away with a gray suitcase in hand and is heading toward the San Francisco area. Deputy K. Walther asked anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to contact the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.

According to The San Francisco Chronicle, Mint is the child of tech billionaire Stewart Butterfield, cofounder of Slack. Mint’s mom was the one to report them missing, and reportedly has a home in San Francisco.
