Even Tony Hawk agrees that Avante Leaozinho is the raddest skater around. The 7-year-old, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 18 months, has always dreamed of hitting the ramps.
After failed attempts to use walkers and bikes to make his wishes come true, Avante’s mom called on the company SkateAnima.

The experts, who specialize in creating mechanisms for skaters with disabilities, built a device that allows him to stand upright on a skateboard.
The heartwarming moment was captured in a now-viral video of Avante’s mom pushing him up the ramps at the skatepark. The huge smile on his face says it all.
Professional skater Tony Hawk caught wind of the video and commented, “The stoke is contagious!”
Avante’s mom added an inspiring message on Instagram (translated from Portuguese):
“For children who have cerebral palsy, or any other kind of disability, having desires and dreams is not allowed. The world is always telling us no. We must not, we cannot, it will not work, there is no adaptation. We do not belong.”
“Thank you @skate_anima for so much, always. You deserve the world. Thank you for taking my lion for a ride.”
Tony Hawk often shares inspiring videos of people with disabilities living out their skateboarding dreams.
Earlier this year, Hawk shared a video of a 10-year-old boy with no legs absolutely killing it at the skate park.
So remember: Never give up on your dreams, because there is always a way to make them come true!
