In May 2022, Celine Dion talked more about her health and how it has affected her performances. As it has been reported, Dion had to, unfortunately, cancel some of her shows as a result of some health issues.
She began her statement, saying, “Here we are again. I’m so sorry that we have to change our tour plans for Europe one more time. First, we had to move the shows because of the pandemic, and now it is my health issues that are causing us to postpone some shows and unfortunately, we have to cancel some too.”
“The good news is that I’m doing a little bit better but it’s going very slow. It’s very frustrating for me. I’m getting treatment from my doctors, taking medication, but I’m still experiencing some spasms and it’s taking a lot longer for me to recover than I had hoped. I need to be in top shape when I’m on stage, I honestly can’t wait but I’m just not there yet. All I can say is that I’m doing my very best to get back to the level that I need to be so that I can give 100 percent at my shows because that is what you deserve.”
Celine Dion wants everyone to take a beat and know that she is doing okay in light of her recent weight loss.
Dion, 51, who just became the latest spokesperson for L’Oreal Paris, admits she has shed some body weight but she is healthy.
“It’s true that I’m a little thinner. Everything’s fine, nothing’s wrong,” she told ABC News.
“I do this four times a week,” she told People. “People say, ‘She’s a lot thinner,’ but I’m working hard. I like to move and (weight loss) comes with it.”
“Dancing has been in my DNA all of my life,” she shared with the outlet. “It’s a dream. And so hard!”

Dion recently paid tribute to her late husband René Angélilt on January 14.
He passed away five years ago.
Dion, 52, posted a photo of her and the music producer holding hands via Instagram, along with a heartfelt caption about her husband of 21 years.
“René, it’s been 5 years already … There’s not one day that we don’t think about you. We’re reaching out to you now more than ever, to guide us, protect us, and continue to watch over us. And we pray that you’ll shine your love on the entire world, to all those at this very moment, who are facing incredibly difficult times,” Dion captioned the picture.
“You are in our hearts and in our lives forever. We love you, Celine, René-Charles, Nelson and Eddy xx.”
In April 2019, the singer spoke out about her husband’s death during an appearance on Good Morning America.

She went on to share the piece of advice she’d give others dealing with such a loss, which was, “You cannot stop living. Go forward. Today is the first day of the beginning of [your] life.”
At that time, she said she felt “so powerful and in charge and grounded and happy” as a single mom, crediting Angélil, who was 73 when he died, with giving her “strength” during their relationship:
“I will never be a dad but it’s like … I’m in a double job as a parent — I’m a ‘parents.’ I’m the big deal! And the kids are growing and I see them and I look at them and I’m like, ‘Wow, we’ve done a great job and I’m so proud.”
Two years after her husband died in February 2018, Dion appeared on the Australian TV show The Project where she talked about keeping her husband’s memory alive.
“He’s as alive as he was before. [He’s] not physically with us, but I live with him. I see him every day through the eyes of my children,” she explained.
