On Oct. 8, Celine Dion took to Instagram to post a video.
In the video, Dion remembered a particularly heartwarming moment from this summer’s Paris Olympics.
“Kelly, when I came back from the Olympics, I got to watch and listen to your reaction to my performance on the Eiffel Tower.”
During the performance seen below was particularly emotional for many Celine Dion fans due to her ongoing health issues that left her unable to sing for years. Dion was diagnosed with stiff person syndrome; a rare neurological disorder that has affected her ability to walk, talk, and sing.
“It feels like somebody is strangling you,” Dion told Today’s Hoda Kotb in the eye-opening June 11 interview.
As Dion continued, she said it was “so sweet to hear” Clarkson’s voice “breaking” throughout her commentary while a correspondent for NBC. “It touched me so tremendously.”
“You were crying and then you made me start crying. What’s up with all this freaking crying?”
As Dion got emotional remembering the moment, the legendary singer praised Clarkson after she covered Dion’s hit song “My Heart Will Go On.”
“And now I just saw you singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ and I’m crying again. You were absolutely incredible, fantastic. I loved it so much.”
At the end of her video, Dion told Clarkson that she hopes they can see each other in person “soon, very soon.”
“And I hope we’re not going to start crying. I love you so much. Thanks,” Dion said, as she blew Clarkson a kiss.
