Family of Carole Baskin’s Late Husband Bought Ad Space During Dancing With the Stars Live Show to Solicite New Leads

The family of Carole Baskin‘s late husband is using her newfound fame to send a message. As many of her followers may already know, the American big-cat rights activist and CEO of Big Cat Rescue is currently a contestant on Dancing With the Stars after becoming a favorite when the Netflix documentary Tiger King went viral earlier this year.

Baskin’s life became a bit of a debate when the documentary revealed that her first husband, Don Lewis, went missing. Years later, after Lewis seemingly disappeared without a trace, he was declared dead. Baskin has since moved on with her second husband, Howard Baskin.

Carole Baskin and Lewis were married for 6 years before he went missing in 1997. In total, Baskin remained married to Lewis until 2002. Now, people have varying opinions of whether or not Lewis actually went missing or if Baskin had something to do with his disappearance.

Now, Lewis’s family has purchased an ad slot during the Dancing With the Stars live shows in an effort to bring awareness to his disappearance in hopes of getting the answers they’ve been looking for since 1997. According to People, “the ‘Justice for Don Lewis’ ad featured Lewis’ family and their attorney, John M. Phillips.” In the ad, the group “asks for tips about his disappearance to be sent to 646-450-6530 or 1-800-litigate.”

As a result, anyone who is able to provide a tip that helps the family learn more about Lewis’s whereabouts will be up for a $100,000 reward, People reports.

“I’m Gale, one of Don Lewis’ daughters. We are a real family and to us, he was daddy.” “I’m Lynda, one of Don Lewis’ daughters, and we miss our dad.” “I’m Donna. I’m Don Lewis’ oldest daughter. We need to know what happened to our father.”

Lewis’ longtime assistant Anne, who was featured in Tiger King, was also in the commercial. She said, “I’m Anne, Don’s former assistant. All we’re asking is justice for Don.” Then Phillips concluded the commercial adding, “Don Lewis mysteriously disappeared in 1997. His family deserves answers, they deserve justice. Do you know who did this or if Carole Baskin was involved?”

As People reports, Carole Baskin is not currently a person of interest in Lewis’s death, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said. Baskin later told USA Today, after the ad went public that she would love nothing more than for her ex-husband to be found.
