Demi Moore dropped huge news on Wednesday in a social media post regarding her ex-husband’s health and what the future holds for him.
Next to a photo of Bruce Willis, Moore addressed Willis’ fans and supporters letting them know that the Die Hard actor would be retiring from his acting career.
Demi Moore Shared That the Family Is Going Through a ‘Challenging Time’ Amid an Unfortunate Health Diagnosis for Bruce Willis.
“To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family, we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities,” Moore captioned a throwback photo of Bruce Willis. “As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”
Aphasia is a condition that robs a person of the ability to communicate, according to the Mayo Clinic. It can affect a person’s ability to speak, write, and understand language, both verbal and written. Typically, the condition is brought on by a head injury or after a stroke but it can also accompany a variety of degenerative diseases.
“This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion, and support,” Moore added. “We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.”
“As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that,” the message concludes. It was signed off by “Emma, Demi, Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel, and Evelyn.”
