‘She’s Never Had to Work for Anything’: Britney Spears Responds to Jamie Lynn’s Tell-All Interview

After Jamie Lynn Spears’ first tell-all interview which helped to promote her upcoming book, Britney Spears is also telling-all. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Jamie Lynn sat down with Good Morning America to speak her truth, Things I Should Have Said.

Jamie Lynn got emotional several times during the interview. She talked about everything from her teen pregnancy, her daughter’s ATV accident, and her relationship with her famous sister, Britney Spears.

During the interview, Jamie Lynn said she’s only ever been her sister’s biggest supporter and although she was young and pregnant when the conservatorship first started, she claims she tried to help Britney any way she could.

“I’ve only ever loved and supported her and done what is right by her and she knows that. So I don’t know why we are in this position right now,” Jamie said of her and Britney’s current relationship.

Now, Britney is also speaking out following her little sister’s interview. In her social media post, Spears revealed she didn’t know Jamie was going to be on GMA and was fighting a fever when she learned of the interview.

“It was actually kind of nice having a fever so high cause I had to surrender to not caring,” Britney said. However, Britney made it clear there were two specific parts of Jamie Lynn’s interview that did bother her.

“The [two] things that did bother me that my sister said was how my behavior was out of control,” Britney explained. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Jamie Lynn told GMA how much she looked up to her sister but also said she watched as Britney’s behavior changed over the years.

“Erratic, paranoid, and spiraling,” are a few ways Jamie described Britney’s past behavior. “She was never around me much 15 years ago at that time,” Britney responded. “So why are they even talking about that unless she wants to sell a book at my expense??? REALLY???”

The second topic Britney took issue with was when Jamie Lynn Spears address Britney’s disapproval of her performance several years back. As you may recall, Jamie Lynn was involved in a tribute performance where she sang a lot of Britney’s most popular songs.

In past social media post, Britney voiced her disapproval of the performance. Jamie Lynn was asked about it during the interview and she said she had no idea why her sister was upset over that.

“Then where the lady mentioned why did she accuse you of doing remixes to her songs, I know it may sound like a silly thing to most people but I wrote a lot of my songs and my sister was the baby,” Spears wrote in her post.

“She never had to work for anything. Everything was always given to her.”

As Britney further explained, the performance her sister was given, was the performance she always wanted. “I was always the bigger person. They all go to DO IT and PLAY ME and I always sat there and took it.”

“I do remember asking my sister why she did that when she knew I was waiting to change my show and her only words were, ‘Well, it wasn’t my idea.’”

In the end, Britney wrote that she hopes Jamie Lynn’s book “does well” and said that she would be taking a step back from Instagram for a while.

“The media, the business has always been extremely hateful to me. I’ve given enough, more than enough. I was never given back ever what I wanted,” Britney wrote. “My family ruined my dreams 100 billion percent and try to make me look like the crazy one. … My family loves to pull me down and hurt me always so I am disgusted with them.”

And if you thought that was the last of this public back-and-forth between the Spears sister, you’d be wrong. Immediately after Britney posted her statement, Jamie Lynn posted one of her own. In reads, in part:

“It’s hard to see these posts, as I know the world also feels. I just wish her well. Brit, I am always here, you know behind the scenes I have always been here. It’s becoming exhausting when conversations and texts we have in private don’t match what you post on social media. I know you’re going through a lot and I never want to diminish that, but I also can’t diminish myself.

Quite frankly, the things being said are absolutely not the truth, and I have to clarify that, because now it’s getting harder for me to rationalize to my oldest daughter why our family continues to get death threats, as a result of their aunt’s vague and accusatory posts, especially when we know she could tell the truth and put an end to all of it in one second if she wanted to.”

It’s unclear how this will all end.
