It has been 18 months since Britney Spears’ conservatorship – which was in place for 13 years, dating back to 2008 – came to an end on November 12, 2021. Over the past 1.5 years, her life has changed dramatically and has been subject to a rising amount of negative media attention and fan speculation.
With media and fans fearing for her well-being over the past couple months, one media giant is digging deep and investigating her personal life in a new documentary. That media giant is TMZ and they’re preparing for the release of TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom on May 15 on Fox.
Among the many discoveries they made during the investigation was Britney Spears’ apparent obsession with caffeine. According to sources close to Britney, who spoke with TMZ, she ‘guzzles Red Bull, Celsius, coffee, and dandelion tea almost nonstop’ – failing to practice moderation behind her caffeine addiction.
The source added that her caffeine obsession sometimes leads to her being awake for three consecutive days – something that has many doctors and fans worried. One expert, Dr. Drew, told TMZ how unhealthy this is for the human body, but said this behavior is common in those suffering from a mental illness.
According to the FDA, we shouldn’t be consuming more than 400 milligrams of caffeine per day and warns of possible toxic effects after consuming around 1,200 milligrams of caffeine. Consuming too much caffeine can result in insomnia, jitters, anxiousness, upset stomach, fast heart rate, headaches.
The latest news regarding Britney Spears’ caffeine habits comes just a few months after an apparent intervention for the 41-year-old singer was canceled last minute. Spears has denied rumors of an intervention, but multiple sources confirmed it was in the works until they called it off at the last minute.
The news also comes just one month after Britney Spears’ marriage to Sam Asghari came into question when he was spotted running errands without his wedding band – it came at a time when Spears was pictured ‘cuddling up’ on a private plane as they headed to the beach. Those rumors were shut down too.
