Brandon Blackstock alleges that he did not defraud millions of dollars from estranged wife Kelly Clarkson, spanning her entire career.
Blackstock, 44, filed documents in November with the California Labor Commission in response to Clarkson’s October filing, in which she claimed Blackstock acted fraudulently as her manager.
In the documents, Blackstock denied any wrongdoing and claimed the Clarkson, 38, isn’t entitled to any money that he, his father Narvel, or their management company, Starstruck Entertainment, earned over the past 13 years.
Blackstock’s attorneys further argued how the Starstruck Entertainment company is not subject to the Talent Agencies Act as they did not perform their duties in California.
Blackstock’s attorneys additionally argued how there is a one-year statute of limitations in the Talent Agencies Act.

This means that even if Clarkson could prove the alleged illegal activities by her management, she could only claim commissions that were paid within the year prior to her October 2020 filing.
Blackstock requested Clarkson’s filing be dismissed and in addition, she pay his legal fees.
In September, Starstruck Entertainment first sued Clarkson over alleged unpaid commissions in September 2020.
