Brad Pitt has made his fair share of fashion statements throughout his career – one of which coming on July 19, 2022 at Berlin’s Zoo Palast theater, where he was promoting his movie Bullet Train. Instead of wearing pants like the rest of the attendees, Brad Pitt decided to wear a knee-length brown linen skirt.
He coupled the brown skirt with a blush undershirt and matching brown button-down overshirt, a pair of motorcycle boots, a pair of black sunglasses, and some unique-looking jewelry around his neck. The skirt also gave fans a peak at his leg tattoos – what appeared to be one tattoo on each leg, one being a skull.
And while he’s no stranger to a fashion statement, it appears that wasn’t his intention at all. In fact, he was asked about his decision to wear a skirt to the premiere and he gave a rather frank answer. “The breeze,” he said to an Associated Press reporter – a nod to how hot and humid it was at the time.

It’s a look we’ve seen before on celebrities, such as Pete Davidson and Harry Styles, but it’s also not the first time we’ve seen Brad Pitt wear a skirt – he also wore one in May 2004 during a press tour for his movie Troy. At the time, he went as far as predicting that men would be wearing skirts by next summer.
“Men will be wearing skirts by next summer. That’s my prediction and proclamation. The film answers to both genders. We were going for realism and Greeks wore skirts all the time then,” Brad Pitt said, according to British Vogue. He even went a step further and wore a collection of minidresses in 1999.
He also opened up about his personal style – or lack of one – in a 2021 phone interview with Esquire. “If I have a style, it’s no style,” he told the outlet. “I like monochrome, without it being a uniform. I like simplicity. I like the details in the stitching, the way it feels. If anything, that’s the only divining rod I have.”
Brad Pitt Says He Was Disappointed With ‘Troy’ Film
In 2019, Brad Pitt spoke to The New York Times about the one film he was disappointed with throughout his long and illustrious career. His answer was Troy (2004) – an epic historical war film by German filmmaker Wolfgang Petersen – and his reasoning might surprise you, considering how famous he is.
“What am I trying to say about Troy? I could not get out of the middle of the frame. It was driving me crazy,” Brad Pitt told the Times. “Every shot was like, ‘Here’s the hero!’ There was no mystery. So about that time, I made a decision that I was only going to invest in quality stories, for lack of a better term.”
He went on to claim it was that transition that inspired the next decade of films for him – and a motto he continues to abide by to this day as his resume grows more and more impressive every year. He appeared in seven films in 2022 and has at least two more in the works – set for releases in 2024.

“[Troy] really made me think, I’m following my gut from here on out. I had to do Troy because — I guess I can say all this now — I pulled out of another movie and then had to do something for the studio. So I was put in Troy. It wasn’t painful, but I realized that the way that movie was being told was not how I wanted it to be. I made my own mistakes in it,” he continued.
