Just a little over a month after announcing that she and her husband Chandler Powell are expecting their first child together, Bindi Sue Irwin is now announcing the gender of their unborn blessing. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, on August 11, just five months after becoming husband and wife, Irwin and Powell announced that they will be parents for the first time at the beginning of 2021.
On September 22, Bindi took to Instagram to share a photo of her, Powell, one of their beloved tortoises for the Australian Zoo, a photo from one of her ultrasounds, and flowers that were a very specific color. The color of the flowers was pink, representing that they are expecting a baby girl.

“Baby girl, you are our world,” Irwin wrote on Instagram. “Our beautiful daughter is now about the same size as a hatchling Aldabra tortoise and is as healthy as can be. We can’t wait for her arrival next year.”
Exactly when Bindi is due is still unknown. But now that her fans know she is having a baby girl, many of her followers believe they have the perfect name suggestion—Stevie.
“Name her Stevie,” one commenter wrote. “Stevie Sue Irwin,” another added before even more thought her mom should be incorporated into the moniker as well. “Stevie Terri Powell would be bomb,” some said.
And people were also quick to point out how esctatic Bindi’s late father, Steve Irwin, would be knowing that he was going to have a granddaughter. “Aww congratulations on a little girl. Your dad would be so excited. I can just imagine how he would react,” one commenter said in the comments.
“This is how you do a gender reveal. Congratulations, I adore all three of you,” another shared.
And Powell revealed on his own Instagram account that he cannot wait to be a girl dad. “Our little girl and my beautiful wife are my entire world. I’m so excited to meet our daughter when she’s born next year and to see the incredible person she will grow up to be.”
“Here’s to the greatest new life chapter,” Irwin wrote in her husband’s comments. “Baby girl and I love you beyond description.”
