Although it has been reported by her agent that Betty White passed in her sleep, a former co-star of hers is revealing her alleged last word. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Jeff Witjas confirmed that the beloved actress died “peacefully in her sleep at her home early [Friday] morning.”

“Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever,” Witjas admitted in his statement. “I will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much. I don’t think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again.”

In the 1980s, Vicki Lawrence worked with White on Mama’s Family. In an interview with Page Six, Lawrence said she reached out to one of their mutual friends, Carol Burnett, after learning of White’s passing.

“I texted Carol and said, ‘This just sucks. I hate this. It’s just horrible to see the people you love so much go away,’” Lawrence said. “Carol wrote back and said, ‘I know, I know. I spoke to Betty’s assistant, who was with her when she passed, and she said the very last word out of her mouth was ‘Allen.’”

Allen was the name of Betty White’s third husband, Allen Ludden. White often referred to Ludden as her soulmate and the reason why she never remarried after he passed away in 1981. They were married for 18 years.

According to the Huffington Post, Jeff Witjas couldn’t “confirm or deny” the report. White was 99 years old at the time of her death, she was just 18 days away from turning 100.

During an interview with People, Betty White also joked about her secret to a long a fulfilling life which included being a “cockeyed optimist,” avoiding “anything green,” and always celebrating with a vodka on the rocks with a lemon peel and a hot dog on the side!
